YOUR TRIP
GUN PERMITS / ENTRY / TRANSFERS
There is no problem taking guns into Argentina with a MAXIMUM 3 GUNS PER HUNTER. A valid passport is required for entry and no visa is required for U.S. citizens. The process of taking your shotguns to Argentina is simple. Call the Argentine Consulate nearest at your home and ask about your gun permit. You will fill out a one page "gun permit pre-registration" form. You will also need three passport-size photos ( 1 1/2 x 1 1/2) and a xerox of the photo page of your passport. Upon your arrival in Buenos Aires (or Cordoba) you will proceed to the adjacent gun clearance area, fill out one additional local form and pay u$30 for each firearm. Of course, our Argentina Expeditions representative will provide assistance throughout.
SHELLS
We strongly recommend that all shells be purchased in Argentina. The Argentine shells are quite good, and buying them there eliminates hassle and possible overweight charges. Shells brand include: Rio, Fiocci, Saga brands can by purchased at acceptable cost by Argentina Expeditions in each hunting area: For DOVES: u$ 10/box of 25 shells including local tax in 12 or 20 gauge. GUNS/CHOKES
Either 12- or 20-gauge is suitable, 12-gauge is more effective on ducks and high doves. Argentina Expeditions recommends you bring at least two guns. Doubles, semi-autos or pumps are fine. Suggested chokes are improved/modified for doves/pigeons; skeet/improved for perdiz and improved/modified for ducks. Screw-in chokes provide flexibility.
Make sure your guns are in good working order before you leave as this can be high-volume shooting in the country away from servicing facilities or gunsmiths. Please bring extra parts for repair if you have them. Your guns will need to be transported in lockable hard cases on the airlines. Even in a hard case, the gun must be disassembled. Argentina Expeditions also suggests a lightweight storable soft cases to carry your guns into the field.

BAG LIMITS
Bag limits in most provinces of Argentina are very liberal, and on some species that are considered "plagues" there are no limits. The shooting in Argentina is quite good for a number of reasons, ranging from lack of shooting pressure to undisturbed nesting and roosting habitat. We want you to enjoy your hunt but also consider that these resources need to be preserved for generations to come.
AIRLINE SCHEDULING
Many excellent carriers, such as American, Delta, United Airlines, Lan Chile, Aerolineas Argentinas and Varig offer varied flight service to Argentina from New York, Miami, Atlanta, or Los Angeles.
